Opening Night event
Attendee Information and Guidelines
Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian over the age of 25.
We encourage you to bring a picnic along to the event with you. Chairs, Eskis, Picnic Rugs and food are permitted at the event.
Please note that no glass is permitted.
Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted at the event.
This event is a smoke free event.
Dal Pizzaiolo will be serving up delicious pizzas if you wish to purchase dinner at the event.
Umbrellas and gazebos are not permitted.
Gas bottles, or any portable barbeques are not permitted.
Dogs are not permitted. (with the exception of registered service animals)
All rubbish must be placed in a bin or taken with you.
Terms & Conditions
The York Festival may vary these Terms and Conditions at any time. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before confirming your purchase.
By making a purchase, you are agreeing to these Terms and Conditions.
- All ticket & pass purchases are final and shall not be refunded, except as required by law or in accordance with the Live Performance Australia Ticketing Code of Practice or as otherwise specified by York Festival. See below for further conditions.
- A non-refundable transaction fee inclusive of GST applies on all ticket and pass purchases.
- Tickets/passes may not, without York Festival’s written consent be on-sold at a premium, offered as a prize or inducement, packaged or otherwise used for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes. York Festival reserves the right to refuse admission to the bearer of any ticket or pass sold or otherwise provided or distributed in breach of this condition.
- All ticket/pass prices are stated in Australian (AUS) dollars and include GST where applicable.
- Prices are subject to change at any time without notice.
- No obligation is assumed by York Festival to arrange a substitute event if an event is cancelled. This includes events that may be cancelled due to COVID-19.
Workshop/Walks participation
- Participation in workshops are on a first come, first served basis. A day or weekend pass does not guarantee participation. Please arrive to the class early with your pass or wristband to avoid disappointment.
- No refund will be granted if class capacity is full on arrival.
- Workshops for 12+ require a day or weekend pass.
- Workshops for children as labelled are free but subject to limited availability, please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
- Walks and Tours are free for children, however an adult must accompany the young person(s) and must bear a valid pass.
Opening Night Event – Wundig Wer Wilura In Concert
- The Opening night event is ticketed separately to Day/Weekend passes. Weekend passes are not valid for entry to this event.
- Young people under 16 must have a valid U16 ticket for the Opening Night event.
Shuttle Bus for Opening Night event
- All customers (including U16 ticket holders) must have a paid bus ticket to board the shuttle.
- Please ensure you are on time as no refunds will be given if you miss the shuttle.
Concessions and Companion Card Holders
Where concessions are applicable, suitable and valid identification must be provided by the Consumer for collection of tickets and for admission to a performance. The following concession types are accepted:
- Full-time Students
- Children 12 years and under
- Pensioner and carer concession card holders including Concession Scheme Card
- Health Care Card holders
- Seniors Card holders
- BasicsCard holders
- Companion Card holders
- Australian Defence Force personnel
- International Defence Forces personnel
A valid Companion Card or valid Companion Card Number must be produced at the time of booking to gain access to the Companion Card Scheme offer. Details of use are contained on the Companion Card website.
Passes and wristbands
- Your e-ticket from Oztix serves as your pass to retrieve your wristband for day/weekend passes. Use your smart phone to show your booking confirmation email or saved ticket in your Apple or Google wallet to venue staff for scanning upon arrival for performances, and to collect your wristband.
- Passes and wristbands are non-transferable. In the event that you present your barcode for scanning at a venue and someone else has already entered on the same barcode, entry will not be permitted to subsequent pass holders with the same barcode. Torn wristbands will not be accepted. No refunds or exchanges will be entered into in such situations.
- Treat Passes and wristbands as valuable as cash and do not distribute them to others, physically or electronically.
- The right is reserved to not replace lost or stolen passes/wristbands.
Privacy & Risk
- York Festival collects your individual information in case of an event cancellation or alteration. If you elect not to receive digital communications from York Festival, or you fail to supply sufficient and appropriate contact information, York Festival is not responsible for failure to contact you.
- Entry to a Venue is at an individual’s own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, York Festival will not be responsible for any loss, damage, harm or injury arising from a consumer’s entry to a venue or performance within a venue.
- Passes and wristbands must be retained throughout the performance. Venue management reserves the right to evict any person or persons not in possession of a valid pass.
Refunds & Exchanges
York Festival will not grant a refund or offer any other form of reimbursement;
- If there is a change in personal circumstances,
- In the case of a change of mind,
- If you were refused entry or removed due to your breach of the General Terms and Conditions,
- If you arrive late for any scheduled performance time,
- If you incorrectly selected tickets,
- If your passes are lost, stolen, or misused,
- If due to dislike or dissatisfaction of the Event, performance, venue, goods, or services,
- If you did not attend.
In the case of a full or partial refund in compliance with Australian Consumer Law, the transaction fee paid by the consumer is non-refundable.
- York Festival will only refund tickets per these terms and conditions and to the extent permitted by law. York Festival or Oztix has no liability to you.
- York Festival reserves the right to alter the date, the venue and the entertainment and activities as advertised, without prior notice to you. Your entitlement to a refund in such circumstances is determined by York Festival. Please contact Oztix for details in this instance to determine your eligibility for a refund.
- If the date, time, or venue of an event is rescheduled or changed, your ticket will remain valid for the rescheduled date, time, and venue.
- If York Festival authorise a Refund, Oztix will refund to you the Ticket Price. If York Festival authorises Oztix to do so, Oztix will also refund the Booking Fee and Handling Fee.
- Any refund payable can only be made back to the credit card (whether temporary or otherwise) used in the original transaction.
- Oztix and the York Festival will post any relevant information regarding any cancelled or rescheduled events on our socials and website when applicable. It is your responsibility to check our socials for information concerning any events.
On some occasions, York Festival is able to exchange tickets from one performance to another, provided the following requirements are met:
- The request for the exchange is for the same event at a different date or time
- The exchange must be of equal or greater value
- No exchange of shuttle tickets to passes will be permitted
If York Festival permits an exchange, an exchange/transaction fee may apply.
