Wheatbelt born writer and comedian Andrew HC McDonald brings his hilarious debut novel The Montegiallo School of Swearing to the York Regional Writers Weekend.
McDonald talks about his, book, growing up in a town where the wheat bin was ten times the size of the town (Shackleton) and also examines the gloriously ridiculous world of international swearing. Why is ‘turtle’ one of the most shocking words in Chinese? Can you insult a Swede by calling them 17? Could swearing therapy work in York?
Attendees will have a chance to try some of these words out themselves, or even add some of their own. McDonald, who is also a prominent print artist will add a unique handmade York Festival rubber stamp print to the signature page of attendees who have the book.
