The Forster/Kazuki duo brings together two of Western Australia’s most exciting emerging artists, Holly Forster and Chris Kazuki, in a newly formed collaboration. Holly, an alto saxophonist for nine years, draws deep inspiration from her surroundings and has a passion for Australian music. Her recent six-month study at the Frost School of Music in the USA has further enriched her artistry. Chris, a talented guitarist, has crafted his own authentic sound, blending classical guitar techniques with jazz to create a distinctive style. The duo’s chemistry has been honed through their performances with WAYJO’s Wednesday Night Orchestra and their studies at WAAPA. At the York Jazz Festival, they will join forces to present an exhilarating set of original compositions and fresh reimaginings of well-known jazz standards.
