SUMMARY:THE ACT-BELONG-COMMIT YORK SOCIETY ART & CRAFT AWARDS
DESCRIPTION:The York Society is pleased to be again presenting the Act-Belong- Commit Art & Craft Awards. \nEach year the Society holds the annual Art and Craft Awards which originated with the Craft Awards in the York Fair in 1973. When the Fair ceased in 1984\, the Craft Awards continued and in 1989 Art was included. The Awards hold an important place in the Western Australian Art & Craft scene and now attract around 300 entries each year from some 150 artists and crafts persons. \nEntrants to the Art & Craft Awards must be residents of Western Australia.  Prize money\, donated by the community\, totals $9\,500. A new Award of $1000\, was first included in 2001. In 2019 two such Awards\,  one in the Art section and one in the Craft section\, will be made for the best entries depicting “Flight”.  Entry into this Award is optional. For more details\, see below.\n​\nEntry forms and information about categories are now available. \nFor an Entry Form\, please click here. \nEntries will close on 18 September\, 2019 and the exhibition will be held in the York Town Hall\, October 12-20. \nThe next exhibition will be held in the York Town Hall\, October 12-20\, 2019. \n
