Dan Garner is a talented guitarist hailing from Perth, WA, who has steadily built a name for himself in the Australian jazz scene. Originally from the small wheatbelt town of Wyalkatchem, Dan’s honed his skills at the prestigious Western Australian Academy for Performing Arts (BMus, Hons. Jazz Performance, 2016). Known for his meticulous attention to detail, Dan has performed widely, both locally and internationally, including a stint in New York to refine his craft.
His work with notable ensembles like the Gemma Farrell Quintet (GFQ), The Artemis Orchestra, and Queency, among others, showcases his versatility as a musician. Dan’s original compositions, featured on his album East of the West (2021), have been highlighted at premier venues such as The Ellington Jazz Club and The Duke of George. Returning to the York Jazz Festival, Dan’s solo performance promises a captivating journey through the rich landscape of contemporary jazz.
